About Me

I'm not only a writer, I'm a Midwesterner, read: I don't really like talking about myself directly.

The quick and dirty version? I grew up in Minnesota, went to college at Harvard, and never left the Boston area. Over the years, my writing motto has emerged as "just say yes"; I've written everything from short humor for McSweeney's, to political op-eds for Canada.com, to immersive pieces on John Boehner's day-glo tan and Gwyneth Paltrow's delusions (also known as "goop") for Vanity Fair. On the way-less-exciting end of the scale, I've done freelance copy-editing, issue-activism ghostwriting, and pen-for-hire press releases. Basically, if it involves words, I'm willing to give it a try (at least once).

In book form, I write humor and young adult contemporary fiction. I'm represented by Dawn Frederick of Red Sofa Literary (for comedy) and Heather Alexander of Pippin Properties (for young adult writing).

If you want to get in touch, give me a shout-out on twitter, look me up on facebook, or email me. I'm an especially good conversation partner if you love amazing cocktails, terrible television, or talking to your cats.
